The $cience of Getting Rich

This book has been written hundred years ago and has been described as an essential read for people, who wish to be successful and become rich. Certainly, I believe no one is naïve enough to think that a formula for getting rich can be described in a single, short text; otherwise, everyone capable of reading this book would be rich. This is another motivational book that has a number of useful messages. But there is definitely nothing revolutionary or mind-blowing described within its pages. Even though the book is short, slightly over a hundred pages, it tends to repeat itself a lot and ramble about the same thing. Possibly, this is intended to make the reader remember the messages. However, it is frustrating at times to keep reading the same thing or a slightly paraphrased version of it. It is also obvious that the author was quite religious and accentuates the role of the Force or Power in almost every chapter. At least no specific religion is mentioned.

Nevertheless, this book presents some practical lessons. One of the main messages is the fact that a person should not think in a negative and pessimistic way, but in a positive and optimistic way at all times, no matter what is happening and what is being discussed. There is no reason to get obsessed with fighting depressing things. Instead, it is more constructive and useful to focus on spreading positive things. No need to fight poverty, but spread wealth instead! Positive energy accomplishes a whole lot more than a negative or stressed-out one.

Another crucial message is the fact that everyone should do what they enjoy and are good at doing. There is always a way to turn something that you enjoy doing into also being profitable. And if it was not and is not profitable now, then there should be a way of fixing it. Sometimes people are too fast in deciding to change their careers in order to get more money. But theoretically, every job, as long as it is being done in the most efficient and smartest way, is capable of bringing as much money as needed.

Overall, the book is a useful read, but does not present its messages in the most efficient way.
