Alphatudes: The Alphabet of Gratitude

Michele Wahlder
Publisher Life Possibilities Publishing (2010)
ISBN 9780982364505
Reviewed by Randy A Lakin for RebeccasReads (3/10)

In "Alphatudes: The Alphabet of Gratitude," Michele Wahlder’s new book, she came up with the alphatudes concept when counting sheep just did not work.  During this sleepless period in her life, it became a way in which she could clear her mind and focus on the day's events in a positive way.  There is a chapter for each letter of the alphabet: A – Acceptance,  followed by B – Beauty,  and so on.  Each chapter is four pages long, the first two pages features a relaxing work of art.  On page two is a quote by an author or poet.  The next page is a nice explanation of why one should be grateful for the example of the letter listed, i.e. “R – Relationships”.  The last page has a thought provoking quote or saying.

This book would make a great gift for a friend or loved one.  I find it very uplifting and very moving.  You can keep it with you at work and read a chapter every day at lunch or on your break.  If you have someone filled negativity around you, you might pass the book to them to look at when you are finished with it.

The book states, “26 Solutions for Life’s Little Challenges”.  While the book is only 111 pages long, and can easily be read in a day,  I suggest you spread it out to fully absorb the meanings behind each chapter.  The author, Michele Wahlder, is a professional life coach, experienced career counselor, and founder of Life Possibilities.  She draws upon her years of expertise to alphabetically compile and beautifully illustrate quotes from an impressive variety of individuals.  As an added bonus, when you purchase this book you get a gift from Olivia Newton-John.  You can download her song, “Grace and Gratitude” for free from her web site, olivianewton-john.com.  So be sure to download her song.
