reviewsSecrets in the Fields: The Science and Mysticism in Crop Circles
Freddy Silva The book is divided into two parts: “The History of Crop Circles” and “Evidence and Purpose.” In the first section, the creative chapter names include titles such as “Of Circlemakers and Circle Fakers,” “Days of No Trust,” and “People Can’t Make That.” In this part, we are presented with a thorough history of crop circles and physical traits that they possess. After the history and background is laid out for us, the second part of the book focuses on the evidence that is out there and the purpose. This section includes chapter titles like “The Geometry of Crop Circles,” “Acoustical Alchemy,” and “The Dragon Awakes.” Silva has definitely done his research on the subject and presents the reader with a complete and thorough book. I feel that I learned quite a bit about the subject at hand. It was very interesting to see the analysis of the evidence that is out there and learn how these different designs may be created. I also liked learning about the meanings and messages hidden within. Although I enjoyed Silva’s writing, of most interest to me are the images in the book. There are over 400 pictures and diagrams which really complement the text nicely and make for a wonderful learning experience. Some of the photographs were absolutely incredible to view Before picking up Silva’s book I had heard of crop circles, but really hadn’t given them a second thought. I am glad that I decided to read “Secrets in the Fields- The Science and Mysticism in Crop Circles.” Crop circles truly are a fascinating phenomenon. |
