A free spirited, beautiful bartender/artist inherits her destiny, albeit unwillingly.  She is next in line as a guardian of a scroll that she has spent most of her life resenting.  Contending with a bitchy coworker and problems she needs to resolve in her art, more distraction are unwelcome, even if one is as hot as fire.  Being chased by thugs doesn’t even prepare her for the worst yet to come.  Through it all, a seriously sexy Rhys demands her attention.

I think this is one very sexy story.  It is fast moving, with enough sex and excitement to make me ask, “When is her next book??”  Kate Perry is very talented at evoking responses in her readers with her use of well-written descriptions, as in the following:
His gaze dropped to my lips before returning to my eyes "And you believe I'll do anything to get it?"
"Yes.” Risky, being this close to him.  Even his scent was seriously drugging.
He rested his hand and mine over my heart this time, which beat hard and fast. I wanted to tell him my mark was lower, but I wasn't sure having his hand down there was wise, especially in public. "Perhaps you're the one who will agree to anything."
Before I could answer, his lips claimed mine. Hot and searing, I felt the kiss all through my body. My hand gripped hid shoulder for balance, and I curled into the heat of it. He flattened his palm over my nipple, and I thought I was going to spontaneously combust.

This book is aimed at the romantic genre, specifically for those into the paranormal, though all will enjoy it.  I am not normally a fan of paranormal writing, but I did enjoy this book, and look forward to Perry’s next.

I found the author’s tale to be interesting, exciting and sensual.  It is exactly what I look for in a romance novel.  In my hurry to find out what happened, I flew through the book too soon, and now will have to search for any others she has written.  She is definitely on my look-for-list!
