I love cooking, trying new recipes, and experimenting in the kitchen.  However, until I received “The Pineapple Daisy Recipe Book” I had never even thought about creating designs using fruits.  After I received the book and paged through it, only looking at the pictures, I thought to myself that these arrangements were sure going to take a lot of time and effort to make.  But to my surprise, after I started actually reading the book, I learned that although they look like you spent forever making them, they actually are quite simple to create!

The book begins with a section on how to choose your fruit and how to cut it.  This section pretty much lays out the groundwork for the beautiful designs that follow.  The second section focuses on chocolate dipping and lacing.  I actually have never tried chocolate dipped fruit before reading this book but after seeing those chocolate dipped strawberries, I definitely had to give it a try!  I dipped mine in milk chocolate and then did an easy swirl design.  Not only did they look fancy but they tasted delicious!

The remaining part of the book focuses on the basket assembly and arranging the fruit.  For each arrangement there is a list of what you need to get at the store, how to prep it, cut the fruit, dip, and the recipe to create the pictured design.  It actually looks very straight-forward and easy-to-follow.  The end result would make a wonderful gift that anyone would be pleased to receive.  I can’t wait to make an entire basket.  The hard part is going to be choosing which of Lindy Orist and Zantia Archuleta Abeyta’s creations to make first!
