Provence has always been a topic of conversation among Andy and Margaret Becker and their friends.  It was one of those things that they always talked about doing, but something that they never acted upon.  Well, one day Margaret decided that they are in fact going to Provence and started to make travel plans.  Andy thinks that it will all blow over before it is actually brought to fruition, but Margaret is persistent and the plans become set.  “The P. Word” describes the Becker’s preparation for the trip and their visit to the area.    Lewis describes all of the different historical areas that they see and all of the scrumptious food that they eat.

“The P. Word” by Renee Rosch Lewis is a wonderful summer read!  The book is one that you can easily read in one sitting as it is a short one hundred and forty six pages.   There is never a lull in the book; it flows very nicely from start to finish.   If there is one complaint that I do have about “The P. Word”  it would be that I wish it were longer!   I enjoyed Lewis’ writing style and almost felt as if I had joined Andy and Margaret in Provence.  The description of all of the wonderful food makes me want to book a plane ticket myself!  Also, let it be noted that Lewis has spent a lot of her time traveling in Provence so, even though the book is fiction, she does have knowledge of the area.   I highly recommend “The P. Word.”  You will not be disappointed.
