A Little Book of Thank Yous: Letters, Notes & Quotes

As a big believer of acknowledging my gratitude, I was very excited to read this book.  I hoped it would give me guidance and samples of notes to write for all occasions for which I wanted to thank someone for the making me the recipient of his kindness.  So often it is difficult to eloquently expand upon the words “thank you” and I was a bit disappointed that this did not meet my expectations.

This is a small inspirational book that focuses upon the idea of gratitude, identifying it and responding to it.  The give and take of receiving and giving back is explored through quotes and samples of notes written by famous people.  Intermittent narratives describing the power of words and deeds precede examples.  There are lists of suggestions to say in words, both written and oral, gifts to buy or make, and actions to take in showing appreciation.

"A Little Book of Thank Yous" is a pleasant entertaining book to read that offers suggestions and examples of positive responses for good times and bad.  I would hope that much of it is intuitive to the reader.  Anyone picking up this book obviously is already aware of the power or gratitude and desires to expand upon his own actions.  Many quotes are inspiring and anecdotes entertaining. Addie Johnson, “thank you” for sharing this book.
