As the second book in the series begins, Kelsey is headed back to America.  She is returning after traveling across India trying to break the curse that was placed on Ren back in the 17th century causing him to be embodied in the form of a white tiger.  When she arrives in Oregon she finds that a home, car, tuition, and everything else that she needs have been provided for her.  While attending college, she ends up meeting a regular guy named Li and starts forming a relationship with him hoping to put thoughts of Ren behind.  But is she ready to move on or will her past keep pulling at her?

“Tiger’s Quest” is written in the same fast-paced style as Houck’s first book in the series “Tiger’s Curse.”  The six hundred and eighteen pages in this book just fly by and I had it finished in it’s entirety in two days.  I found the characters in “Tiger’s Quest,”,  as in the first novel, to be very intriguing and enjoyed delving deeper into their world.  Houck’s newest installment is full of romance and suspense.  It provides a great escape from real life for awhile as we are transported back and forth from the modern world as we know it to the magical and mythological world in which Ren exists. The storyline is creative and jam-packed full of action and adventure.

Although I wish this second book would have ended differently, I am looking forward to the third book in the series that is in the works called “Tiger’s Voyage.”  In fact, I think the ending of this book made me anticipate what is going to happen in the next book even more!

As stated in my review of the first installment in the Tiger series, this set of books has a very similar concept to the Twilight series.  If you enjoy Stephenie Meyer’s books you should definitely give Houck’s series a try, I think you will be pleasantly surprised.  I recommend “Tiger’s Quest” to anyone young adult and up looking for a magical and intriguing read.
