reviewsSleeping with Mortals: The Story of a New York Mistre$$
Cathrine Goldstein “Sleeping with Mortals: The Story of a New York Mistre$$” by Cathrine Goldstein tells the story of fictional character Victoria Messing, a nineteen year old who moves to New York City with the goal of becoming a mistress. Her first stop is at a plastic surgeon’s office to fulfill her other life goal of having bigger breasts. It is here in Dr. Fifth Avenue’s office where she meets the first married man to whom she will play mistress to, Dr. Fifth Avenue himself. At her one week post-op exam he asks her on a date and this is how her “career” begins. Goldstein’s book chronicles the ups and downs of Victoria’s life in this new role. Playing mistress to seemingly well-to-do men at times isn’t always all that she thought it would be. There are some moments where she wonders if she can really make it work. Will this “career” choice be enough to pay her bills and keep her fed or will she always have to flash the delivery man in hopes of getting a free meal? “Sleeping with Mortals: The Story of a New York Mistre$$” was a very fun read and I couldn’t put the book down until I was finished. Goldstein’s writing is a little on the risqué side and the story will definitely hold your rapt attention. The book moves along at a fast pace and flies by so quickly that I wish there was more. I was sad when the book ended. This would be a great summer beach or poolside read. I definitely look forward to more books by Cathrine Goldstein in the future. She is certainly an author to watch! .: Blog
