How to Marry and Keep a Supermodel

“’How to Marry and Keep a Supermodel’ chronicles the unlikely relationship of the Asian supermodel known as Sassafras and the regular guy attorney at law Herman Franck, Esq.  From their once in  a million chance meeting at a train  station in Firenze, Italy, to many poems and songs later; moving to California, marriage, kids and dogs in  a suburban home with lawn sprinklers, to the drama of differing life mixes of supermodel and attorney.” (back cover)  This paragraph nicely sums up Herman Franck’s newest 393 page book.

Although the cover photo and title look and sound to be non-fiction, the “characters and events are make believe but are inspired by real events.”  I enjoy books that fuse true life and fiction as it always has me guessing throughout the book what really happened and what didn’t.  I find novels like this one to be very intriguing.

There are some areas where the story drags a little and seems repetitive, but once you push past those areas there is quite an interesting story underneath.  The writing does have a very bitter and jaded tone; however, there is also an element of entertainment to it.  On a certain level it had similarities to a Jerry Springer episode with cheating, hookers, etc. mixed with Star magazine’s celebrity scandals.  If you enjoy gossip magazines and drama then I think that you will enjoy reading Franck’s book.   There is a multitude of drama that will hold your attention.

Franck has written many, many books according to the introductory sections of this newest novel.  I counted more than thirty on the list.  Looking at the brief synopsis of each, it appears that Franck has a very creative imagination as the books range in topics immensely.  If you enjoy Franck’s style of writing in “How to Marry and Keep a Supermodel,” check out some of the others on the list.
