As a mother to two young sons, when I saw “YOGA in No Time at All” I decided that this was definitely a book for me.  My life is so hectic that other than a yoga class that I took about a year ago, no matter how hard I try, I cannot seem to incorporate more yoga into my life.  It seems as if it takes too long and it isn’t the least bit relaxing when you have a three-year-old and a five-year-old trying to crawl on top of you and play, or use you as a bridge to crawl underneath.

In Joel DiGirolamo’s book he presents a variety postures that are meant to just be incorporated into your daily routine and take little, if any, additional time out of your busy life.  For instance, there is a Brush Asana that is meant to be done while brushing your teeth and there is the Sock Asana that is easy to do while putting on your socks.  Each pose lists the time that is required to perform it, what areas of the body will benefit from the pose, the difficulty rating on a scale of 1 to 5, which muscles the pose awakens, instructions of how to do the pose, the traditional asanas that the pose will help, and variations of the pose, as well as a photograph of someone doing the pose.

I have found it very easy to slip a few of these into my life.  I love that they take so little time to do but are still providing me with benefits.  Although the asanas at home I find easy to incorporate into my daily routine, I don’t think I would be able to do the ones in public without feeling a little silly.  For instance, there are a couple of poses that are meant to be done while you are filling up your gas tank and they involve using your trunk or the gas pump.

Overall though, the book is full of creative ways to add more yoga to your life and the instructions are very easy to follow.  “YOGA in No Time at All” would make a great gift for that busy person on your list!
