reviewsA Christian’s Guide to Overcoming Sexual Struggle
Michael Clairborne In the Introductory section of “A Christian’s Guide to Sexual Struggle,” Michael Clairborne says that, “Each year, I help thousands of clients prophetically through my website ...I decided to write this book after spending years of time with Christians and non-Christians. Their sexual struggles convinced me that a book had to be written for everyday Christians who struggle with their sexuality. This is not a sex addiction book. This is for everyday Christians who feel guilty after they have had a sexual fall.” (p.11) One thing that I could not get over as I was reading the book was that “A Christian’s Guide to Overcoming Sexual Struggle” was riddled with editing issues. There were numerous spelling errors, punctuation errors, and inconsistencies. For instance, throughout the book Jim Bakker is spelled both the correct way and also spelled Baaker. Mary Magdalene is spelled incorrectly (Mary Magadallene) in one sentence and then spelled correctly a few sentences later. This lack of editing, for me, really took away from the book and decreased its credibility. With all of that being said, there were parts “A Christian’s Guide to Overcoming Sexual Struggle” that did make for interesting reading . The author did a wonderful job incorporating numerous familiar pop culture references into his writing to illustrate his points. I think that the topics addressed were good ones and covered a wide range. The author’s Christian point of view on the topics and the advice he gives I think would be helpful to Christian men and women who need assistance in overcoming sexual struggle. Hopefully there will be another edition of this book in the works, one that is more thoroughly proofread. .: Blog
