Author Spotlight

JameelJD Seamus

Novelist JD Seamus has lived and worked among some of the most amazing characters ever to have walked the Earth.
Seamus was born and spent his early childhood in one of the worst ghettos of Belfast before immigrating to the US at the tender age of eight. One of nine brothers, he is the only survivor today.
Raised in the rough Five Points section of New York by his uncle, an NYPD sargeant, Seamus eventually joined the local neighborhood gang and began participating in minor illegal activities.  He later discovered that he was a terrible criminal and was demoted to look-out because of his slow running ability, and demoted again after it was discovered that he was legally blind. He was told by gang leaders to continue his education as he was a very poor criminal, and he did. He remains close to the remnants of his original gang who later in life became Mafia Dons and Capos, a Rabbi, two Catholic Priests and a Bishop, Captains of Industry, movie stars, TV personalities and sports heroes.
Upon completing his education, JD worked on Wall Street initially then began a venture capital firm and a hedge fund simultaneously. He retired early but still runs a small mutual fund for his friends. Being Irish he has the gift of gab and began his writing career at the insistence of friends.
With a keen eye for detail, Seamus takes to heart the old adage to “write what you know.”  Borrowing from real life experience, Seamus delivers highly entertaining tales full of sparkling wit and dark humor.
Last Call is his first novel but certainly not the last as he has four completed novels waiting in the wings. Whether pondering life’s most absurd or most wonderful moments, or showcasing a character’s foibles or triumphs, JD Seamus is dynamic new voice in the world of fiction. Seamus may make you blush, he may make you cry, but he will certainly leave you entertained.
Seamus now lives in Central Florida with his wife and two dogs and is working on novel number six. He is a lifelong Braves and Jaguar fan and bleeds either blue or teal depending on the season.
